Research Program

Combining NVIDIA high-performance GPU computing resources with the interdisciplinary research strengths of National Tsing Hua University to advance cutting-edge AI research, talent development, and real-world innovation.

Program Objectives

NVIDIA and National Tsing Hua University are partnering to advance innovation and development in artificial intelligence in Taiwan. The program aims to:

Advance research and applications of cutting-edge AI technologies in Taiwan

Cultivate highly skilled AI researchers and professionals

Accelerate the development and deployment of AI applications

Foster interdisciplinary research by combining NVIDIA high-performance GPU resources with NTHU’s diverse research teams

Research Themes

We welcome innovative research proposals that leverage NVIDIA GPUs, SDKs, and related technologies, including but not limited to:

Generative AI and Digital Twins

Generative AI · Digital Twin

Innovative applications in music, imaging, finance, law, manufacturing, smart cities, and related fields.

Physical AI

Embodied AI · Robotics · Sim-to-Real

Research on embodied AI and robotic systems, including multimodal foundation models, Sim-to-Real training and deployment, autonomous vehicles, industrial robots, and humanoid robots.

Large Language Models

Speech · NLP · Real-World Applications

Development and research in speech processing and natural language processing, as well as practical applications of large language model technologies.

Physics-Informed Neural Networks

PINNs · Scientific Computing

Integration of physical constraints described by partial differential equations with CAE simulations or observational data to accelerate scientific computing in fluid dynamics, electromagnetics, thermodynamics, and related fields.

Quantum Computing Simulation

GPU-Accelerated Quantum Simulation

GPU-based simulation of quantum systems to explore the potential of quantum algorithms and quantum computing.

Drug Discovery

Molecular Design · Protein Structure · Virtual Screening

Deep learning research for drug development, including molecular design, protein structure prediction, virtual screening, and related applications.

Medical Imaging · Genomics · Intelligent Healthcare

AI research and applications in medical imaging, genomics, intelligent healthcare, clinical diagnosis, surgical assistance, and improved treatment outcomes.

Data Processing Unit Applications

DPU · Networking · Storage · Security

Innovative research using DPUs to offload and accelerate networking, storage, and security workloads.

Large-Scale Computing Applications

Innovative applications developed with NVIDIA SDKs and related tools, with priority given to projects requiring large-scale computing.

Support for Selected Projects

Selected research projects will receive the following support:

01

NVIDIA Computing Resources

Up to one month of NVIDIA computing resource support.

02

Solutions Architect Guidance

Technical guidance from NVIDIA’s Solutions Architect team.

03

Technical Support

Technical support from the SA team during working hours throughout the project period.

Rights and Obligations

  1. Share research progress reports with NVIDIA.
  2. Submit a detailed final report within two months after completion of the project.
  3. Publications arising from the project must acknowledge NVAITC’s participation and support. Collaborators who make substantive research contributions may be included as co-authors in accordance with standard academic practice. If the project receives NVIDIA computing resources, that support must also be stated in the Acknowledgment section.
